Preserving the stories behind the cars, the people who shaped them, and the miles that made them matter.

The Heritage Porsche Project documents Porsche history as both factory heritage and living heritage.

Factory heritage tells us what a Porsche was when it left the factory: the model, color, options, equipment, production details, and original configuration.

Living heritage tells us what happened next: the owners, the miles, the repairs, the restorations, the modifications, the track days, the road trips, the memories, and the people who kept the car alive.

We believe both stories matter.

A Porsche is more than a VIN, an option code, or a production number. It is a machine shaped by the people who owned it, drove it, restored it, raced it, repaired it, and loved it.

What We Do

The Heritage Porsche Project brings together storytelling, photography, video, technical documentation, race preparation, restoration support, air-cooled engine rebuilding, buyer assistance, and motorsports testing.

Our work is built around one simple idea: every Porsche has a story worth preserving.

Heritage Stories

Curated Porsche stories, interviews, photography, video features, and ownership histories.

Heritage Stories is the documentary side of The Heritage Porsche Project. We collect and share owner interviews, car profiles, restoration histories, build details, photographs, videos, and personal memories connected to Porsche cars.

Some stories are about rare cars. Some are about daily drivers. Some are about track cars, restoration projects, family cars, modified builds, or imperfect survivors that mean everything to their owners.

A Porsche does not need to be perfect to matter. It needs a story worth preserving.

The Heritage Porsche Project Race Team

Heritage at speed.

The Heritage Porsche Project Race Team is the motorsports, testing, and development side of the project. Led by TJ Tryon, owner and driver, the Race Team uses real HPDE, autocross, track-day, and testing environments to develop cars, document results, and support Porsche owners preparing their own vehicles for performance use.

The Race Team also supports structured product testing, including Motul brake fluid testing and EBC Brakes pad evaluation under real track conditions.

Our current sponsors and technical partners include Motul, EBC Brakes, and Next Level Automotive and Performance.

The Heritage Porsche Project provides practical Porsche-focused services for buyers, owners, drivers, and enthusiasts.

Used Porsche Buyer Assistance

Buying a used Porsche should be exciting, not a gamble. We help buyers review listings, understand model-specific risks, evaluate modifications, identify inspection priorities, and prepare for a more useful pre-purchase inspection.

Air-Cooled Engine Rebuilding

We provide air-cooled engine rebuilding services, from stock to mild to wild, with a special focus on the Type 4 platform. Every build starts with the car’s intended use, careful inspection, honest parts selection, and a plan that fits the owner’s goals.

HPDE and Autocross Inspection and Preparation

Before an HPDE or autocross event, your Porsche needs to be safe, properly maintained, and ready for performance driving. TJ Tryon can inspect your car before the event, identify common tech inspection issues, help complete required inspection forms when the car meets the applicable requirements, and advise on preparation items such as brakes, tires, fluids, suspension, safety equipment, and event readiness.

Why Heritage Matters

Cars change hands.

Owners pass away.

Receipts disappear.

Photos get lost.

Stories fade if nobody documents them.

The Heritage Porsche Project exists to preserve those stories before they disappear.

We care about the factory history, but we also care about the human history: the late nights in the garage, the first track weekend, the impossible repair, the restoration decision, the friend who helped finish the car, the owner who refused to give up on it, and the miles that turned a machine into a memory.

For Porsche Owners

If you own a Porsche with a story, we want to hear it.

Your car may be a concours restoration, a daily-driven 944, a family-owned 914, a modern GT car, a track-focused 911, a vintage project, or a modified car that reflects your own choices and miles.

It does not need to be rare.

It does not need to be perfect.

It only needs to matter.

For Drivers and Builders

The Heritage Porsche Project also supports owners who want to drive, improve, restore, rebuild, inspect, or prepare their cars with purpose.

Whether you are buying your first Porsche, rebuilding an air-cooled engine, preparing for your first HPDE, setting up for autocross, or developing a future track car, the right plan starts with understanding the car, the budget, and the intended use.

Our Mission

The Heritage Porsche Project documents not only what a Porsche was when it left the factory, but what it has become in the hands of the people who loved it.

Preserve the cars.

Honor the people.

Document the miles that made them matter.
